Official app check: which Descript app is real?
⚠️ We could not find an official iOS app published by Descript, Inc. when we checked on 2026-11-01. In the top App Store search results for this name, none were published by Descript, Inc..
Also on the App Store: 1 app using a similar name that isnot published by Descript, Inc.:
- “Transcribe by Descript” — developer: Zenta Paegle
A different developer doesn't automatically mean an app is malicious — but it is not the official Descript app, and copycat apps are a common way people get charged for something they didn't intend to buy. Checked 2026-11-01 via the public App Store catalog.
